Independent web studio · working name

Websites that make a local service easy to choose.

Launchlight Studio designs and builds fast, clear websites for cleaning companies and other local service businesses. One small studio, from first conversation to launch.

01 — Work

Four concept sites, four different briefs.

We don't have client work to show yet, so we built it. All four are fictional businesses with fully working pages. The two cleaning sites are the customer-focused work most small businesses need; the other two are experiments in interactive 3D and editorial scroll storytelling.

The Wren and Linen concept homepage: cream background, headline 'A calmer home, without the Sunday scrub' beside a sunlit living-room photo with checklist cards, then service cards, a price estimator and a cleaning-kit photo beside the visit steps.

Concept project · Residential

Wren & Linen

A home cleaner for busy households. Warm, rounded and reassuring, built around one question: roughly what will this cost me?

Demonstrates
A live price estimator, a plain-English visit checklist and a short booking request.
Design choices
Soft cream and sage, generous touch targets, friendly grotesque type. Illustrative photos are AI-generated and labelled on the page.
Open the concept site
The Clearline concept homepage: navy headline 'Clean, documented, and on schedule, every time' beside an example visit log, then an after-hours office photo band, sector tabs and a sample cleaning specification table.

Concept project · Commercial

Clearline Facility Services

A contract cleaner selling to facilities managers. Precise and structured, because the buyer wants evidence, not adjectives.

Demonstrates
Accessible sector tabs, a sample cleaning specification table and a site-survey request.
Design choices
Navy and teal on a quiet grid, monospaced labels, report-style detail. The office photo is AI-generated and labelled on the page.
Open the concept site
The Auralis homepage: a dark midnight-blue scene with the headline 'Sound, given dimension.' on the left and a rendered sculpture of nested metal and translucent elliptical bands around a glowing core on the right.

Experimental 3D concept — fictional spatial-audio brand

Auralis

A fictional maker of sculptural speakers, told as one continuous 3D scene that changes as you scroll: sound, given dimension.

Demonstrates
Real-time 3D rendering, scroll-driven storytelling across six chapters, an exploded view with live callouts, and layouts recomposed for phones.
Built to degrade well
Reduced-motion and no-WebGL versions are complete static presentations, not blank screens.
Scope
Bespoke 3D work like this takes considerably more time than a typical small-business site, and the quote reflects that.
Open the experimental concept
The SOLENNE concept homepage: an oversized SOLENNE wordmark and the line 'Citrus, held in stone' on warm ivory beside an amber glass perfume bottle with a travertine pebble cap and a curl of tangerine peel.

Editorial concept — fictional fragrance house

SOLENNE

A botanical fragrance house told in five chapters, from a monumental bottle to a find-your-scent guide.

Demonstrates
Editorial art direction, a short sticky sequence, layered parallax, an accessible collection picker and a three-question guide that runs entirely on the page.
Imagery
Four AI-generated images (Higgsfield), kept consistent from one reference and labelled on the page.
Scope
Campaign-style art direction and imagery like this takes considerably more time than a typical small-business site, and the quote reflects that.

02 — Service

A website that does the practical work.

Most service customers decide in a minute or two, on a phone. We design for that moment: what you do, where, roughly what it costs, and how to ask.

  1. Your offer, understood at a glance

Clear services, areas and starting prices near the top, so the right customers recognize themselves straight away.

  2. Inquiries that suit how you work

A form, call button or quote estimator shaped around the details you actually need before you reply.

  3. Quick on an ordinary phone

Hand-built pages with light code and optimized images. No heavy page builder or plugins slowing every visit.

  4. Accessible and easy to read

Readable text, real contrast, keyboard support and sensible structure, which also help search engines understand the page.

  5. Yours to keep

The domain, hosting account and content are in your name. If you ever leave, the site goes with you.

03 — Process

Five steps, with your part made clear.

Timings depend mostly on how quickly content and feedback arrive. Your quote includes an estimated timeline. That's an estimate, not a guarantee.

  1. 1

    Introductory call

    30 min

    We

Ask about your customers, services, style and budget, then agree the scope and send a written quote.

    You

Share what you offer, who you want more of, and any sites you like or dislike.

  2. 2

    Content & structure

    3–5 days

    We

Plan the pages, draft headlines and a content checklist, and edit the text you send.

    You

Provide service details, prices, areas, photos and your logo. Approve the page plan.

  3. 3

    Design

    ~1 week

    We

Design the homepage on desktop and mobile, then the remaining pages in the same style.

    You

Give consolidated feedback within the included revision rounds.

  4. 4

    Build & test

    ~1 week

    We

Build the site, connect forms, and test on real phones, browsers and keyboard navigation.

    You

Set up or share access to your domain and email, and check the preview link.

  5. 5

    Launch & handover

    1–2 days

    We

Go live, check forms and analytics, and give you a short guide to making simple edits.

    You

Confirm the final content is accurate, including your legal and business details.

04 — Pricing

Your website. Your vision. A price that fits.

Every business needs something different. We'll discuss your style, pages, features, and budget, then provide a clear quote based on what you need.

  1. 1

    Tell us what you want

Your business, the pages and features you need, sites or styles you like, what content you already have, your budget and when you'd like to launch.

  2. 2

    Agree the scope and price

A written quote based on the work involved: what's included, how many revision rounds, the estimated timeline, and how any extra requests later would be priced.

  3. 3

    Then work begins

You'll know what's included and what it costs before work begins. Nothing is added to the price without your agreement.

Let's discuss your website

Ongoing care, if you want it

Hosting management, security and software updates, backups and small content edits can be added to your quote as an optional monthly service. Cancel any time.

Third-party costs, paid by you

  • Domain name registration and renewal
  • Hosting, if you choose a paid plan
  • Business email accounts
  • Booking, payment or CRM tools
  • Stock photography or professional photos

Only if included in your quote

  • Logo or brand identity design
  • Copywriting from scratch
  • Online shops or payment processing
  • Ongoing SEO or advertising campaigns
  • Writing your privacy policy or terms

Quotes are in US dollars (USD). A written quote confirms the exact scope, revisions and price before any payment.

05 — FAQ

Questions worth asking first.

Have you built sites for real clients?

Not yet under this studio. That's why the work above is labelled as concept projects. We'd rather show working examples honestly than invent a client list.

Do you only work with cleaning businesses?

Cleaning is where we've started, so the concepts focus there. The same approach suits other local services: trades, landscapers, dog walkers, mobile beauty and similar.

How do payments work?

We propose 50% to book a start date and 50% before the site goes live. You'll see the full amount in a written quote first.

What counts as a revision round?

One consolidated set of feedback on the design, sent together. We make those changes, then you review again. Your quote states how many rounds are included. Further rounds or new requests are priced in advance and only done once you agree.

Can I edit the site myself?

Simple text and price changes, yes. We'll show you how at handover. Larger changes can be quoted separately.

Will it rank on Google?

Nobody can honestly promise rankings. We build pages that are fast, well-structured and clearly describe your services and areas, which gives search engines what they need. Ongoing SEO isn't included.

What do I need before we start?

A clear list of services and areas, rough prices if you share them, a logo if you have one, and some photos. We'll send a checklist after the first call.
